THE NEXT GENERATION OF RISING STARS

DFA Hong Kong Young Design Talent Award aims to support and cultivate Hong Kong up- and-coming designers. By sponsoring the awardees to work in overseas renowned design companies or study abroad in prestigious institutes, awardees can gain global perspectives, broaden their horizons and bring with them different ideas and new influences upon their return, thereby contributing to the development of the local design and creative industries.

This year, there are 17 awardees from different design disciplines not only perform excellently in design fields but also strive to achieve personal and social ambition. They include fashion & accessory designers creating fashionable and innovative items while taking into account of environmental and societal responsibility, to reduce the fashion waste from the source and promote sustainability; communication designer to create a room for public re-think in the connection and relationship among people, city and society; environmental designer aiming to improve quality of lifestyle and showcase the local culture through story-telling approach by interactive and humanise both urban and spatial in the means of planning and design; product & industrial designer strive to achieve a well-balanced combination of aesthetic, applicability and commercial factors.
