    FRIENDSHIP ENGRAVED HEREIN

Nestled in the heart of Tsushima – a “boundary” island between Kyushu and South Korea – lies the Tsushima Museum, an embodiment of history, nature, and the island's unique diplomatic past. Inspired by the historical rulers of the island, the museum's signage recreates their seal, so as to symbolise diplomacy between Japan’s shogun and the king of Korea. Because of the number of international visitors, the signage presents Japanese, English, and Korean texts harmoniously, inviting visitors into the rich natural tapestry of Tsushima's history and culture, mountains, forests and Shinto rituals.
