TRANSCENDENTAL AESTHETICS
“The unbearable lightness” is an exhibition where the artist’s complex feelings about the changes in life are captured in her paintings. The artworks express her dilemma and inner struggle with the invisible weight of life. The design concept complements her contemporary landscape painting with an equally poetic approach, and the design system centres on the visual of a translucent white block, constantly expanding and covering the piece. The exhibition posters and leaflets are on paler washi paper to convey lightness to match the transcendental quality, while the white silkscreen block uses three different halftones to create a see-through effect, simultaneously blocking part of the image.
