DFA Design for Asia Awards 2020 l Grand Award with Special Mention | Gold Award l Environmental Design | Hospitality & Leisure SpacesAtelier tao+c transformed an old, multi-storey, rammed-earth house into a library that also provides accommodation for 20 backpackers. Although guests can only enjoy minimal personal space in a capsule hostel setting, the spacious interior more than makes up for it. The library and hostel were conceived to promote Qinglongwu as an off the beaten path travel destination, where travellers use the facility as a base to explore the natural beauties of the surrounding countryside. It has since become a social and cultural centre for the village community.
