向歷史致敬
筑波市以木工及木建築聞名，故建築採用木結構，展示筑波市的歷史文化。標誌性的屋頂以木片組成，每塊富有彈性且幼薄木片都是利用特別技術扭曲而成。黃昏時份，燈光照亮屋頂，建築的輪廓線條成為筑波市新市中心的一大亮點。
