江別蔦屋書店以「享受慢活的森林圖書館」為設計概念，三大建築物選用當地製造公司的磚塊建造而成，與圍繞建築的翠綠形成強烈對比。三幢主樓分別以「心」、「命」與「養」為主題。室內空間間隔設計考慮到外面的森林景致，以拉近建築與自然的距離。設計特別選用磚、混凝土、鋼及木等原生建材，以營造一種沉實的田園氣質。
