屋主從傳統高腳的「甘榜屋」房子建築找到設計靈感，在地少人多的新加坡尋回在熱帶氣候生活的樂趣。設計師把主建築升起，多出來的空間種下大樹及各種植物，打造出一個開放式的陽台。房子和陽台以樓梯相連，而陽台與屋外地面的高度差距形成了一個極有氣派的入口，同時阻隔屋外的交通，增強私隱。
