設計團隊在思考設計方案時，特別注重為中國當代藝術界舉足輕重的藝術中心打造一個符合其地位的入口。翻新工程把從前殘破的大樓樓版以紅灰泥及黑框窗重鋪表面，非常奪目。底層打掉後只剩支柱，視覺上營造了一種飄逸感。
