平易近人 建築奇觀
衛武營國家藝術文化中心象徵高雄市的文化實力，曾經是國際港口，今日高雄市轉營成為現代多元的文化都會。設計概念取材於當地的榕樹及其宏大的樹冠，外牆與屋企形成一個壯觀波浪形的結構，連結中心各個不同功能的活動空間。建築師與本地及荷蘭的船廠合作製作弧形的鋼架結構。榕樹廣場下是一個有遮蔭居公共空間，可供居民休憩，耍太極或是作街頭表演。設想到城市的亞熱帶氣候，開放的結構令空氣特別流通。文化中心設有超過5,800個座位及科技先進的劇院設施，提供各種世界級水準舞台表演。
