主辦城市杭州展示了其前瞻性和創意思維，建造既適用於體育賽事，又適用於非體育活動的場館。杭州亞運棒球壘球體育文化中心由兩個相鄰場地組成。這個永續場館為主辦城市創造長期價值，並大大提升興建大型體育賽事場館的效益，減少浪費。
