為慶祝GDC獎項三十年的輝煌歷程，設計巧妙地將獎項首字母縮寫「GDC」與「30」的陰影投影融為一體。運用「陰影」和「影響力」的雙重意思，該設計巧妙地以中文字「影」為主題，以表達獎項的傳承，呼應「為中國的未來設計」的比賽口號。設計多方面包含著3D元素，除了陰影投射產生視覺錯覺，推砌出不同有意思的圖案之外，亦透過展覽裝置、徽章以及陶瓷杯和邀請函可見一斑。《30年、30位設計師、30封信》特別單元活動進一步紀念設計師與GDC獎項之間的深厚情誼及設計師之間的個人故事。
