    Tides in Balance

Floating off Chi Ma Wan, this installation reimagines architecture as an organism in flux. Formed from hand-cast concrete mixed with raw sand and anchored by recycled plastic bottles for buoyancy, its rock-like modules drift, join, and resettle with the tide. Each piece bears the tactile traces of its making—the uneven surfaces inviting marine growth and weathering into the work. Over months, the structure shifted hue, absorbing sea greens and earthen tones, while birds, crabs, and fish claimed it as habitat. Through low-tech craft and gradual transformation, the design dissolves the boundary between the built and the born.
