A Bridge of Nearness
Extending in two sweeping arcs over the sea, the structure pauses just short of union—its twin spans separated by only fifty centimetres. This deliberate distance transforms function into feeling: a space for gesture, longing, and encounter. Inspired by the Vietnamese legend of lovers who meet but once a year, the bridge captures the beauty of connection without completion. Its curving forms rise and bend toward each other like outstretched hands, evoking Michelangelo’s suspended touch. Here, architecture becomes metaphor—an ode to desire and restraint, where meeting halfway is itself the most human form of closeness.
