Crimson Continuum
Along the banks of Nanjing’s Qinhuai River, a centuries-old residence is reawakened through a dialogue between preservation and invention. A sinuous red steel stair—part dragon, part artery—threads through four courtyards, linking the past’s stillness with the pulse of modern life. This sculptural form not only connects but protects, serving as shelter, structure, and symbol. Around it, restored timber, Taihu stone, and glass interlace to form a language of renewal, where traces of age meet industrial sheen. The result is a living heritage—dynamic, reflective, and rooted in both memory and motion.
