Dragon in Motion

Stretching thirty meters across the gallery, this immersive LED installation transforms Kan Tai-keung’s iconic calligraphic “dragon” into a living inkscape of light and motion. Each stroke, once rooted in brush and paper, dissolves into shifting layers of mist, mountain, and cloud—its rhythm evoking both breath and cosmic flow. The piece reassembles fragments of the original character through precise digital choreography, creating a continuous, abstract form that moves like ink in water. Light replaces pigment; pixels replace texture. Yet, the spirit of calligraphy remains unmistakable—fluid, disciplined, and alive. Visitors are enveloped in its evolving landscape, where the ancient and the futuristic merge in quiet harmony.
