SUBURBAN JOYS

This shop is in a residential district and has a polygonal copper-clad exterior with shifting colours that reflect the landscape, and echo the tones of legendary Mt. Akagi in the distance. A grand atrium staircase brings the garden indoors, and children play as adults unwind, and a bakery-café encourages camaraderie, transforming the commercial space into a lively plaza, which challenges conventional retail with a holistic approach, design and community spirit.
