ETHEREAL SPLENDOUR
In the Liuzhou mountains, on the west side of the Liujiang River, this project has used light and shadow to create a complex narrative of high mountains and deep water. The expansive white spaces interact with the sunlight, casting strong shadows as they embrace the undulating mountains, and the outline of the walls moves dramatically with the fierce sun. The raw, unpolished stones at the entrance to the building, reflect the whole depth and history of the valley, juxtaposed with the white woven fabric which covers the walls.
