UNDER THE SAME ROOF
The traditional Chinese courtyard house or siheyuan is well-known for Confucian ideals, accommodating several generations of a family under one roof, and for this unusual private residence the clients requested a new, larger house for all three siblings to replace the previous one. They wanted a small memorial garden in memory of their mother, and that the new construction should recall the pitched roof of their childhood home.
