When Eco-Fashion Meets Martial Arts Chic
Inspired by martial arts displays on the silver screen of yesteryear, Gong Wu is an autumn and winter casual wear collection. Dominated by black jackets, blazers, and dark, deconstructed denim jeans, the clothes are reminiscent of the stoic and somehow intimidating look of the martial arts masters, always ready to unleash their deadly power and indomitable spirit to uphold honour and fend off intruders. The locally manufactured garments are made from old, hard-wearing, recycled clothing with a lower environmental impact, and laser printing is used instead of washing techniques to decorate the denim with dynamic, bold Chinese brush strokes, reiterating another familiar calligraphic martial arts theme. This chic kung fu collection celebrates Hong Kong’s Shaw Brothers Studio, which once influenced the world with its hair-raising, entertaining, and memorable action scenes.
