In the social isolation of the global pandemic, the architect created a safe space in Tokyo Midtown Garden to brighten up Tokyo dwellers’ lives. The ‘hills of sky and moon’ theme comprises a gigantic moon clock made up of 16 scythe-shaped benches arranged in a circle, each representing a phase of the moon. At night, recessed lighting underneath the benches creates a mesmerising urban spectacle.
