DFA Design for Asia Awards 2020 l Merit Award l Environmental Design | Culture & Public Spaces
A block of rough-hewn basalt with inset aluminum channels offers visitors a journey through time and space. The Museum of Prehistory in the South Taiwan Science Park exhibits relics of settlements dating back 5,000 years that were excavated during construction. Terraces are bordered in river rocks that reproduce farm walls, and a covered walkway has been split in four places to admit natural light.
