DFA Design for Asia Awards 2020 l Bronze Award l Environmental Design | Event, Exhibition & Stage Design
This stage design for a Japanese dance performance features an assemblage of artfully arranged rectangular frames suspended across and above the entire stage. Light shining from above on layers of frames at different angles creates a cascade of light and shadow. The square panels emerge from and disappear into the dark background as the lighting changes, creating a striking visual effect.
