Unlike many similar revitalisation projects in China, this town is still home to many of its original residents. Architects adopted three different strategies, protect, repair and integrated construction, to strengthen its identity, rejuvenate it and harmonise tourism and the traditional way of life of the Han Ling people, and the Ningbo Han Ling Water Street immediately created 50 jobs for residents.
