“Alice is a great visual storyteller, challenging the boundaries between stories and realities”
After studying at the Caritas Bianchi College of Careers in Hong Kong, Alice went to the Design Academy Eindhoven, where she specialised in research, content, sound and video editing, and exhibition design. In 2015, she started her own design studio MISSALICEWONG DESIGN, focusing on design research and content creation. She has won awards for film editing and for experimental films, and was nominated for the London Design Museum’s Beazley Designs of the Year. Her film “Weaving Stories” was shown in Switzerland, China, Norway and the Netherlands.
In her videos “US & THEM” and “Marriage Matters”, Alice focuses on informal, cross-cultural, stereotypical, content-driven story-telling, and sees herself as a designer who is able to translate research into a multi-perspective story. Her documentary “Double 11” explores the co-existence of Chinese and Western values, and “Reconstructing Reality” investigates how information shapes our mind.
Alice would like to refine and enrich her work, and to learn new techniques and to be more hands-on, and also to apply her skills and knowledge in the cultural and education sectors. She is inspired by German artist and filmmaker Hito Steryl’s creative documentary footage and computer-generated images.
