DFA Design for Asia Awards 2021 l Silver Award l Environmental Design | Hospitality & Leisure Spaces
Built in a popular hot spring resort area, the architecture comprises spaces connected by interweaving flocking walls. The hotel includes ample public spaces adorned with artworks by 12 groups of artists to highlight the regional identity and burgeoning cultural scene. The hotel is a statement against the ongoing homogenization in Japan that casts cities in the same mold.
