The Hotel Koyanagi is a historic, traditional, Japanese-style ryokan hotel. Hotel chain Matsumoto Joju has revitalised, and its new logo, featuring a pine tree, and designed in collaboration with Japanese crest artist Shoryu Hatoba, uses traditional techniques to represent the city of Matsumoto. Everything, from the graceful, contemporary typeface to the custom signage and uniforms, guest amenities and hotel website, was inspired by the local landscape, culture, history, and people, and expresses the Japanese art of living.
