ZOZO is a Japanese e-commerce fashion retailer and its corporate philosophy is expressed through the architectural design of its new head office, where plaza and cafes, shops, preschools, and eateries are open to the public all year round, and its corporate office hosts community events. A slightly curved, sweeping, pillarless roof, representing a piece of cloth and made entirely of timber sourced from sustainable forests in Japan, rises gently along the north-south axis to create an open space. It uses minimal trusswork to open up the space as much as possible and reduce the carbon footprint.
