DFA Design for Asia Awards 2020 l Bronze Award l Environmental Design | Hospitality & Leisure Spaces
For this revitalisation project in rural Korea, the rundown building has been turned into a mixed-use family house that nurtures intergenerational relationships. On the ground floor are the elder daughter’s café and art gallery and the younger daughter’s bakery. The bold use of building materials creates a distinct look that sets the building apart from its surroundings, and the concrete facade stands in stark contrast to the large glass indoor panels.
