This stilted kampong house is an adaptation of indigenous housing, yielding the joy and romance of tropical living in land-scarce Singapore. The main floor has been lifted to create an open landscape surrounded by lush plants and trees, and serves both as a recreational outdoor area and a cosy dining space.. The house and terrace are connected by a staircase, and the difference in height creates a dramatic entrance as well as shielding the terrace from outside traffic.
