To celebrate the centenary of the Bauhaus, Bauhaus Weimar, a series of workshops and exhibitions was organised. The visual identity of the festival is centred around iconic design elements from the Bauhaus period, which began in 1919, and, with the Bauhaus spirit in mind, designers have created a visual system composed of black-and-white vertical and horizontal lines. These grids trigger limitless possibilities, and visitors are encouraged to fill them in to create their own colourful graphics and pixelated font. This versatile visual imagery can also be applied to outdoor posters and identity cards.
