The project begins with a simple idea: a city is a massive and complex interactive system between the residents and urban space. Understanding urban interaction as essentially an exchange of data, designers adopted a data-driven, scientific approach for brand identity, and the poster is composed of stacked squares of different colours and sizes. Each square shows data collected from the city and the squares form a modular system whose layout can be rearranged. Using only simple geometric shapes, the designer effectively encapsulates the dynamism of cities, communicating the Biennale’s core ideas.
