Voices in Unison

Blending sound, language, and motion, the video wall transforms the living rhythms of Kowloon City into a typographic symphony. Developed through community workshops, residents’ spoken words were visualised through oscilloscope software, turning everyday voices into moving letterforms that pulse with local character. With the support of independent shop owners and a local church group serving the Thai community, the project engaged residents across generations and different cultural backgrounds.[1]  Combined with field recordings, the piece reveals fragments of daily life in Kowloon City—reinterpreted through typography in a way that feels both distinctly local and universally familiar to Hong Kong.
