Ten Layers of Light
Created for a special exhibition on printing, this poster transforms a technical challenge into visual poetry. Rather than relying on digital gradation, it was printed using ten offset plates—each one carrying a different layer of grey. Through precise shifts in ink placement, depth and shadow emerge not from tone but from alignment, rhythm, and touch. The result is a surface that seems to breathe—grey upon grey converging into a luminous black, its richness born from repetition and restraint. Every layer interacts subtly with the next, revealing the physicality of ink, pressure, and registration. What might appear minimal at first glance unfolds into an intricate optical field, capturing the essence of print as both craft and experiment. It is a quiet triumph of process, where the mechanical becomes meditative and the printed surface transcends its own technique.
