Solar Vine
Inspired by the ancient grapevine trellis cultivation method common in Yamanashi, the design of this new company building incorporates a large permeable roof that mimics the structure of a trellis. The roof filters harsh sunlight into soft, natural light while promoting ventilation. This connection to the trellis not only reflects the local agricultural heritage but also enhances the building's sustainability. Groundwater from the surrounding mountains is utilised for cooling, and solar energy powers the zero-energy design, making the architecture an integration of tradition, environment, and modern sustainability practices.
