CHEERING THE COMMUNITY

In response to isolation faced by older people with dementia during the pandemic, Project Futurus initiated their “Sensory Restaurant on Wheels” to bring back the comforting tradition of dim sum meals, and cater to diverse dietary needs while stimulating all five senses. The 2023 edition offers immersive dim sum events, care food workshops, and a community-centric “Pay-it-Forward” voucher initiative. The program is now celebrating over 1,000 elders and individuals with disabilities served, and having trained 600 caregivers and professionals. The programme’s transformative effect has rejuvenated appetites, elevated moods, and reshaped social enterprise involvement.
