A grid is the underpinning principle, introducing a space within space and inspired by the simple geometry of a square, of this integration of architecture with nature. The project consists of seven separate islands spread over the site, each with panoramic views of the sea and surrounding landscape. Each side of the square islands measures 11 metres, and is surrounded by a solid wall. An unusual feature is the two-metre interspace, which creates a swimming pool around an inner glass-enclosed area, where the structural beam over the pool casts ever-changing shadows.
