The renovation and expansion of the Hong Kong Museum of Art (HKMoA) is a dual process, working simultaneously on ‘veil’ - enfolding the existing building in its context - and ‘unveil’ – unfolding its collection and events to the public. The translucent laminated glass of its fifth floor extension presents a strong contrast to the solid, opaque character of the building below, and is a perfect backdrop for the works of art.
