VITAL REVIVAL
This is part of the Airport Authority Hong Kong's most recent environmental effort to conserve the surrounding ocean ecology. The Authority has positioned 100 artificial reef units to encourage a fouling community of organisms such as bivalves, sponges, and algae. Toroidal-shaped concrete elements with holes of different diameters are placed underwater to create shelter for marine organisms and restore the ecosystem.
