Portable Music to Delight the Masses

Music often brings out the best in people. Playing a musical instrument allows young people to grow artistically, and helps them find a powerful way to express themselves. However, for many the relatively high initial cost of musical instruments remains a significant barrier. Yamaha has developed a new wind instrument called the Venova to make it easier for all musicians, young musicians and beginners in particular, to learn how to play a wind instrument.

Lightweight, easy maintenance, and low cost

The Venova offers a saxophone-like playing feel and performance. Its branched-neck and tapered body produces a genuine saxophone-like tone. Made of light, impact- and water-resistant, washable ABS resin, the Venova is compact and portable for players of all ages. Its affordability and easy maintenance make it a casual wind instrument for everyday use. At the same, its solid components withstand the wear and tear of frequent use.

Play a wind instrument anywhere, anytime

The Venova’s recorder-style fingering is easy to learn for beginners, yet offers a feel and tone that satisfies more advanced players. Amateur musicians may find it difficult to pack a traditional saxophone on the go, but the Venova is small enough to fit in carry-on luggage. It is easy to travel with so creative players can carry it around and jam with their friends anytime, anywhere.

Playing in three registers

Like traditional saxophones, the Venova series also includes soprano and alto versions, offering the pleasure of playing in three registers, and in a fully chromatic two-octave range. The largest model, the tenor YVS-140, plays in the key of C, and produces a very low pitch that is very easy for beginners. Its real tenor saxophone mouthpiece, reed, and ligature, come with the instrument. These innovations popularise wind instruments for beginners and bring joy and satisfaction to a new generation of young players just starting their musical careers.
