For the AR-guide system for the permanent Bauhaus exhibition in the China Design Museum, designers created a simple, fun way to help visitors look around the collection. The well-thought-out interface has a built-in curatorial video to guide the user around the whole exhibition simply by pointing a smartphone camera at the artwork. Using system gestures, visitors can examine the exhibits in detail in three dimensions, and even open cabinet doors and drawers, turn on the gas, or show people working in the kitchen a hundred years ago. The application integrates AR scanning, virtual space construction, video explanations, 2D animation, and 3D models, and is intuitive, user-friendly and a great educational resource.
