Designed for a long-established Japanese confectionery manufacturer, the white sleeve and inner box packaging feature bright, stylistic illustrations of fruit and nuts, which revitalise the brand image. On the cover is a striking dye-cut pattern of the kanji character for rice, the main ingredient of wakashi, and the semi-transparency refers to traditional Japanese partition shoji screens, and softens the colours of the illustrations, bringing visual balance to the whole design. Waste is reduced by using the same white packaging sleeves for all flavours.
