The Art Promotion Office launched the “Lamma Mia” Public Art Project to enhance cross-cultural links between residents, and introduce an underrated aspect of Lamma Island to the general public. It takes a retrospective look at the island’s history and culture through commissioned works of art scattered across the island. Designers created clear, flexible wayfinding signage, a modular system composed of mountain and wave shapes. With sustainability in mind, durable and recyclable aluminium plates were chosen, and a wood texture added using heat transfer printing to increase visual coherence with the surrounding natural scenery.
