This set of toy building blocks features a novel interlocking paper mechanism. Each block is made of different shapes of laminated paper, but instead of stacking one on top of another, the blocks are joined sideways, and held together by surface friction. It is part of a project with a Japanese paper manufacturer to develop new products, and the unusual interlocking system allows the paper blocks to be assembled in a way that wooden blocks cannot fit together. By giving a piece of paper three dimensions, a new potential is discovered.
